Growing up in a house with hoarder parents:

  • Having absurd amounts of pretty much anything standing around in the house.
  • Parents going through your trash and blaming you for throwing away certain things that were 'still good to use' (they weren't).

absurd amounts of pretty much anything

Were you all able to find stuff? I knew hoarders who had about a dozen pairs of scissors because they had to buy new ones so often, forgetting where the old ones were.

a hoarder have more than just a large number of one things. they include things like trash they dont throw away, empty boxes, and bags ,,,etc which pile up somewhere. random stuff they think is useful from a street corner.
