Anarchism is a social movement that seeks liberation from oppressive systems of control including but not limited to the state, capitalism, racism, sexism, speciesism, and religion. Anarchists advocate a self-managed, classless, stateless society without borders, bosses, or rulers where everyone takes collective responsibility for the health and prosperity of themselves and the environment.

Valeriano Orobón Fernández, born on this day in 1901, was a Spanish anarcho-syndicalist theoretician, trade union activist, translator, and poet who wrote the lyrics of the revolutionary song "A Las Barricadas".

Orobón believed in the organizational power of unions, believe that they would have a major role in reorganizing society in a more libertarian fashion. Orobón was also strongly opposed to the communist (i.e., Soviet) ideas in Spain during the Spanish Civil War.

Shortly before his untimely death from tuberculosis, Orobón wrote the words of "A Las Barricadas" to the tune of "Warszawianka 1905 roku", itself a well-known Polish revolutionary song. The anti-fascist tune became the anthem of the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT), and one of the most popular songs of the Spanish anarchists during the Civil War.

The most annoying thing about trump is we could have avoided this years ago is liberals got their heads out of their assed and could recognize it was more than trump. If this were happening in 2020 and Biden was incumbent, I don't think he'd stop sending people in El Salvador after taking office. Considering his reign started with people getting whipped by pigs on horses at the border

No, he was inevitable. He is the peak of the american system. He is a wwe hall of fame wrestler. If it wasn't him, it would have been some one near enough to make no diffrence. Liberalism leads to fascism inevitablely. The DNC acting to enforce liberalism locked this in

Trump derangement syndrome must of got me. I'm coping for what

Optimism is a beautiful thing.

Opportunity after opportunity. We were inches away from a completely different timeline not even a year ago deeper-sadness

But that's the thing, right? If Trump got domed and Biden or Kamala won instead, at best it would only delay the deportations to blacksites by a couple of years. The only thing that could actually stop the violence from continuing to ramp up is revolution (which likely will have to be imposed on the US from the outside) or collapse.

Spot on unfortunately

Part of me likes thinking of the hypotheticals because ideally it wouldn’t happen in my lifetime 🙃

the last few months have been a big wake-up call as to the slope of the timeline

We would be so much closer if libs figured it out after Bernie was blind sided the second time. They'd realize dems weren't on their side then Bernie was to their right then communism is the only way.

It's annoying as hell that the "you need to vote for Harris or Trump will do a fascism" crowd can't take the mental step to "a government that can do a fascism shouldn't exist"

[–] Sickos@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Let alone "the choice is between fascism and 🌈😊fascism❤️🌈"

All this talk about "saving democracy" is like nails on a chalk board. If your only choice to "save democracy" is to vote for an arch-imperialist hard-line defender of the status quo, there is no democracy to begin with.

[–] miz@hexbear.net 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

to liberals "democracy" is the observance of the sacred rituals. as long as a liberal voted, whether the policy they support is enacted or not is irrelevant to them. they get to feel better about themselves and that's what politics is about

[–] Sickos@hexbear.net 3 points 1 week ago

The real choice is socialism or barbarism, always was

[–] Rojo27@hexbear.net 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

If they are able to take advantage of Trump's fumbles and get back in control of Congress ans/or the White House it'll be really telling if they just scale those deportations to black sties back or just rename/rebrand it like with the border prison camps if anything at all.

[–] miz@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

"you don't get it. Trump was deporting people, but President Newsom is sending them to temporary foreign administrative detention. hope this helps!"
