I don't think it was coopted so much as the whole thing is the coopting to capture the energy and stop it from feeding the pro-Palestine movement and PSL or other leftist orgs.

I've met several of the original organizers here in my city. They're libs but primed to be radicalized libs. The dems have swooped in. One of the drama items is most people are pro Palestine but several loud (also known feds) people have started arguments over "from the river to the sea" chants. There's some drama over trademark fuckery as well.

So yeah it was always pretty lib but there seems to be a concerted effort to neuter it as a pipeline and I don't think it started that way.

I went to my local Mayday event, and a group of Christians showed up an hour before the planned march and set up fucking booths and a stage with a band. My roommate and I stood in the back and yelled "Booooo"

In some places. There are cities where it's been totally co-opted by the Dems via indivisible. In other cities, like mine, there is no 50501 without PSL. Others are still very contested territory.

any time i look at that subreddit i just see another long “hey guys mod here” post talking about how “this or that other 50501 group isnt the real one, it doesn’t represent our actual goals” etc etc. whole thing seems like libs just trying to out virtue signal each other hoping one of them will come out looking like the libbed up version of mlk jr
