That Carpenter Brut song would definitely work well for something Tron adjacent as would a lot of synthwave style stuff. I wouldn't mind seeing some aggressive chiptunes stuff like MASTER BOOT RECORD included too.
Oh definitely. Not that Trent is inappropriate. But I think Disney is pulling him more for name recognition than anything else. Which in my view at least does not bode well for the film. Along with all the other bad omens. Disney's been on a streak of horrible decisions. Which is sad to see. As the original Star Wars and Tron or some of the first movies I saw in theaters as a child. And some of my favorite.
I have always loved to answer Tron when people would ask me what is my favorite Disney movie. I suspect that Disney is very aware that Daft Punk's involvement contributed to the success of Tron: Legacy and pulled in NIN to try to duplicate the magic. I don't necessarily think it will work, but I am not said for the new NIN.
Oh it was very mutual for Disney and daft punk. People like myself have had Daft Punk albums since the early 90s. While everyone was asking who was under the helmets. We already knew. And had followed them since before they formed Daft Punk. But for your average lay person. Tron legacy is what really introduced them to daft punk and caused them to blow up even bigger. Not that they didn't deserve it.
Legacy in the time it was made, had plenty of time to cook and get things just right. By all rights, Aries should have as well. But the Disney today is not that Disney.
From the little I've read they are doing this more as a semi reboot been a continuation. Which is a definite mistake in my estimation.
That's probably part of it, but to be fair, Trent's won 2 Oscars, 2 Emmys, 3 Golden Globes, and numerous other awards for his soundtrack work...

but in general, yeah, Disney sucks recently...
Yes only time will tell. They really should have stuck with it after the 2010s film. All the hype around it. Everything was primed for a sequel. But then they got cold feet and questioned themselves. Even SL was Awash in cybergoth/ Tron related things at the time.
Now without some of the cast coming back from what I heard. More than a decade after all the hype died down Etc. It's definitely hard to get hyped for it.
MBR kills it! I also dig LukHash, it's like they were made for a Tron soundtrack... I think Disney was making some Tron-related series, they definitely oughta put some of those artists on there...
I'm not familiar with LukHash, but I'll give them a listen later. Thanks!
