Just go to yandex, search the game you want + "rutracker" that works about 98% of the time, translate the page to english and follow the magnet link on the bottom.
The only way that I could find to play The Sims 3 on linux was doing this.
In a way video game pirates are preserving games.
Like always. My biggest fear with cloud gaming is this. If this type of shit replace the way games works now how the fuck do you pirate it? Without pirating the game preservation is gone.
I know it's a hot issue rn because of that law I think the eu has a petition going for.
Like today I downloaded Street Fighter 4 from rutracker and it's infested with game for windows live crap, thankfully you can just make an offline profile and play singleplayer but like you said so many games today require cloud sign-ins and whatnot and the servers and code for them get tossed when it's time is up.
I'm talking about NVIDIA Shield and that type of shit, streaming of games. You don't even download the game itself, the game is running on the cloud, how pirates will have access to the game to crack it if the game is not installed.
Oh yeah, I really don't know, maybe someone will come up with a solution.
If it's all gated behind the cloud the only hope is for someone on the inside to leak it, I think. If it's still somehow accessible however expensive it may be, there could be some community effort for buying it and sharing. That is all hypothetical, of course, we wouldn't download a car etc, etc.
