Yes, for the sake of the meme, they used Bateman as an inflammatory example, on purpose, to trigger people sensitive to the topic. This MO has been around for decades, and you fell for it like it's your first time on the internet.
That does nothing to negate that everyone knows Bateman as a serial killer, and your bad faith appeal to emotion fallacy is pathetic.
