Is there a standard way of flying a flag of a nation in a way that represents the people rather than the state? (lemmy.world)

There's a nationality that has been hounded in my country by huge volumes of derogatory disinformation. I want to wear a flag pin supporting those people. But, their government at home is tyrannical and I'm not a fan of using the national flag for that reason. I'm struggling here with a way to clearly and visually show my support of this community.

Be careful with this one. In some countries it is illegal to fly flags upside down as it considered as dispersing national symbol
