I want to grow vegetables.

I live in the woods and get only a few hours of direct sunlight a day.

Most root vegetables and leafy greens will grow in shady areas, they just generally won't get as big as if they were in full sun.

A lot of greens will grow in conditions like this

Doesn't meant nothing will grow, either the stuff will develop slower, or be smaller when its ready to harvest. Soil temperature and moisture content are probably a bit higher on the things to pay attention to in shaded areas than the amount of direct sunlight.

Grow mushrooms. Amazing nutrition, amazing flavor, and you can incrementally invest in them since inoculated logs last for several years. You can build a pretty solid yield over a few years with inoculated logs and by the time you're that deep into it you'll be experimenting with pulp growing and hanging bags and tons of varieties.
