Funny meme. I do have what might be considered a problematic take by some, in relation to this... What is the point of Anarcho-Feminism? Every anarchist ideology has to inherently be feminist, otherwise it's not really anarchist. So what's the point of it? Any time I see the term I feel the person is just virtue signaling. Either it's a woman trying to project the image of "powerful independent woman who doesn't take shit", or it's a man trying to project the image of "women friend, and safe man".

I swear I'm not trying to be a dick, I just don't get it. Most other anarchist ideologies conflict in some way with other ones, so it makes sense to distinguish them; but all of them are feminist.

Anarchic feminism is less about "this is a distinct thing, separate from all the others" an more of a "this is what we emphasize more than other Anarchists do."

And to be honest? Patriarchy is historically the first Hierarchy. All others steal notes from it, reinforce it, and work to make it harder to replace. The school of Analysis here has roots that people get degrees to specialize in for whatever that's worth, and such analysis shows real results.

I'm more maker-centric. And I'm supremely interested in the actually uncomfortable questions about AI beyond resource usage.

"this is what we emphasize more than other Anarchists do."

Thats the case for every "anarcho-". Fundamentally theyre all based on the same principles, its just how you prioritize hierarchies to attack.

Nah it's perfectly valid and I actually had it in mind myself when posting my comment lmao

The existence of anarcho-feminism basically implies that anarchism is patriarchal by default and that women need to be explicitly liberated or something in anarchist thought.

Early anarchism for sure was patriarchal. Also anarchists to this day struggle with patriarchy seeping into their communities.

A good historical example from the back of my head would be Kropotkin talking about women, kitchens and child rearing in his bread book.

A more modern example would the self reflection "How Can I Be Sexist? I’m an Anarchist!" by Chris Crass.

I mean sure, but wouldn't this be delegated to it being written off as a relic of the past or as a matter that anarchists would have to manage and police themselves within their communities rather than some abstract ideological split?

Like for instance, Bakunin literally couldn't shut up about the jews and how they controlled everything to put it mildly, but there was no need to create anarcho-semitism split or whatever to counteract it since it's just common sense shit in the modern day (even if there definitely are anti-semitic anarchists/leftists, especially nowadays).
