I’ll never understand the embrace of markdown for note taking. It’s a shit format for that.
In what way?
You have to be aware of the syntax instead of just typing like normal and applying formatting like a word editor. Also, it’s not standardized and there are different variants, so you can’t be sure every editor will handle your variant if you export.
What is better? For simple notes it is enough and easy to understand. For other stuff I use AsciiDoc, LaTeX or something else.
Personally I don't agree that MD is bad but I've seen some opinions that Org Mode is better
