It's more that "the law and order president" wants to conspire with autocrats Putin and Xi against the rule of international law. That's your headline, not scuttlebut about whether Putin will regret a war he started.

Only because Trump is so ignorant as to not understand the ICC is largely a tool of the US; we aren't bound by it, but we can use it to bind others or just generally justify further hostile actions.

Same with him talking about disbanding NATO. That one, I'm certain he knows how much cutting his fellow billionaires off from Raytheon's biggest market would hurt them, and is only saying dumb shit to get Europeans to buy more US weapons.
