A Community to talk about Music from the Australian perspective.

Telling stories of Australia through music.

With few exceptions, Australian acts are permitted to have one hit in the US charts, then fall out of the international limelight.

Those acts however often have lots of other cool songs!

There are also several Australian acts that just aren't famous globally.

Perhaps most significantly, the injury led Fountain to explore new levels of trust in her collaborative process. She allowed producer and bandmate Dave Khan to share in and support her songwriting far more than ever before. “It afforded me an opportunity to explore a new level of trust in others and myself with my songwriting… it’s teaching me still.”

'Teamwork' has become such a clichè, and too often people who refer to its use do so in a blaisè way that essentially makes it meaningless HR filler word. I find bands that write songs together are a sure fire indication of someone who actually understands the benefits of collaborative work.

For sure. I'm often a little disappointed to see when a band only has one member credited for writing 90-100% of the songs.

Yeah, i remember when John Butler got big and dumped the musicians he used to play with for more talented people.

I's pretty dismayed, seemed so wrong, probably because its a fairly rare occurrence in his genre. Even though i knew at the time he is the song writer.
