Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Accuser makes it sound like he was not found guilty of rape. If Trump is not impeached the US will be rightly viewed as an autocratic banana republic.
I feel like we blew past banana republic a while back and are onto deciding whether we're a nation of laws at all anymore. The idea that the US is a democracy is laughable.
The fact that democracy put us here is what's laughable.
to be fair, the amerikkkan version of democracy has always been corperatocracy or christocracy.. never was or ever will it be real democracy
Thanks for edgelord nonsense. The US is, by definition, a democracy.
How do you people write that without cringing yourself to death? It's like tweens writing Micro$oft. Waow you really showed em with that original twist in the name
For the record, I hate this place as much as you - if not more.
sure it is, poors get one set of laws and rich get the other, as is tradition for the "roman model" of governance
It's still a Democracy as long as we have elections. Once MAGA cancels elections, it's Civil War.
Unless there's something better on TV.
Elections are not the defining trait of democracies. Technically they are not even a requirement. This is why plenty of autocracies can actually have a ton of elections.
Obviously, he meant free and fair elections, not show ones in dictatorships. Legitimate elections define democracy.
I agree, but again. Elections are not even technically required. There are democratic decision making structures that don't rely on election of representatives or voting. Specially on direct democracies, it's but one of the many ways to ensure the prevalence of democratic values.
Oh, we'll have elections.
They are just trying to decide how convincing they can get away with making it look like a free and fair election without letting it actually be free and fair.
Putin for example has decided that 88% support is "close enough" to a free and fair election.. for now.
I believe all elections in the US going forward will be putin style elections, the rethugs will just issue a decree that the supreme leader won again and this time he going 95% of the votes. All hail king turd
You think Congress has the power to enforce an impeachment even if they rule that way? We’re beyond banana and full mango.
Frankly, the continuing inaction to do nothing at all to even admonish the administration for openly corrupt behavior turning everything into a personal benefit for trump is depressing even if someone implemented 'other methods'.
As bad as Trump is, it's more worrying that no one is even vaguely willing to go along with ousting him. The handful of GOP that was even vaguely on the fence has been ousted at this point. Since the supreme court has ruled that openly politically aligned and outright racist districting is ok, and challenges about each state's districting are only ever valid if the challenge would strike down a democrat plan...
He wasn’t. It was a civil lawsuit. He was found liable.
Guilty and Liable are just different legal words for different kinds of cases, but they both mean the same thing:
HE DID IT!
No, they don't. Being intentionally stupid doesn't help your cause.
He was found liable not guilty, and if you don't understand the difference you should read instead of commenting.
pull the mushroom out of your sphincter
Pull the fingers out of your ears and accept the free Middle School vocabulary/ civics lesson.
Guilty and Liable are just different legal words for different kinds of cases, but they both mean the same thing:
HE DID IT!
He definitely did it, but liability is not guilt and you shouldn't say such ignorant things in public.
Really, I think the current state of the world is the result of idiots proliferating. People who don't understand the difference between liability and guilt, for example.
fighting the good fight for the rapist pedophile, are we? you should be so proud of your good deeds, good character, and integrity
Nope, I'm fighting the good fight against ignorance. I already said he totally did it.
