U.S. President Donald Trump called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "crazy" and accused him of ingratitude during a phone conversation on Monday, according to Axios.
According to the report, Trump "lashed out" at Netanyahu over the Israeli leader's threat to bomb Beirut and the Israeli military's escalation of attacks in Lebanon. Citing two U.S. officials and a third source briefed on the call, Axios described the call as "expletive-laden."
Trump was furious that Israeli operations against Hezbollah risked derailing ongoing diplomacy with Iran and undermining efforts to preserve a fragile regional cease-fire, the report said.
One of the officials cited by Axios said that Trump told Netanyahu that bombing the Lebanese capital would also increase Israel's global isolation. Two of the sources told Axios that "Trump claimed he'd helped keep Netanyahu out of jail, a reference to his support during Netanyahu's corruption trial."
Summarizing Trump's remarks to Netanyahu, the president reportedly said: "You're fucking crazy. You'd be in prison if it weren't for me. I'm saving your ass. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this."
A second source briefed on the call said Trump was "pissed" and at one point yelled at Netanyahu: "What the fuck are you doing?"
Earlier Monday, the president told ABC News a framework agreement with Iran could be reached "over the next week."
Speaking to the broadcaster's chief Washington correspondent, Jonathan Karl, in a phone interview, Trump said that a memorandum of understanding to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and extend the current cease-fire could be completed and agreed to "over the next week."
"I still have to get a few more points," Trump said, according to ABC, adding that he had not yet signed off on the deal.
There has been no public confirmation from Iran that an agreement is imminent. Trump has previously announced ambitious timelines for diplomatic initiatives that were later delayed.

My first instinct is to laugh at the idea of them infighting like this (in a cathartic way).
My second instinct is to wonder if this is a manufactured "report" (or conversation) in some way, meant to give the perception of the US distancing itself from israel's actions even though its leadership materially supports them.
But perhaps it really is as simple as infighting among settlers.
It's all misinformation. Axios is zionist propaganda. Though I wouldn't be too surprised if zionazi settlers start infighting. The zionist regime is on its way out.
This kind of reporting happens all the time. Even under Biden. He reportedly called Netanyahu an "asshole" only to fund Israel just the same.
Single unnamed source, went to axios with very detailed long statement quotes that makes Trump look like both the victim of a bad situation and a tough guy
Yeah it's propaganda
Axios broke the story, so it likely was manufactured by the administration and then “leaked.” It’s an open secret that Axios is a favored stenographer for those in power.
I definitely doubt.
All you have to do is look at the perceptions that it promotes. Trump gets a propaganda win for seemingly showing some strong opposition of some sort to Netanyahu, a figure most in the US hate. Meanwhile Netanyahu gets a propaganda win because any faltering or slowdowns in the current war for the Zionist side can be plausible explained as resulting from outside US pressure, rather than strategic defeats incurred from the resistance.
