If they haven't, they should, which should use all those male/female/trans symbols in all sorts of combinations
Anybody old enough to have used paint programs on monochrome monitors where instead of colors the palette was patterns like this?
Return of the Obra Dinn, IIRC, is fully monochrome, and all shading is done with dithering. It's really impressive how well they made it work.
I've seen varied dithering patterns in some olde games, but those were already in color
