The anti-AI sentiment is pervasive on Lemmy.

I get that, it's just a bit strange how quickly you get replies about GenAI in a niche community about Tycoon games.

I personally don't see the over reliance on ML generated assets in this game, but I could be wrong.

idk, I played it cause it was an interesting concept. The models are pretty low effort, and the AI is prevalent, showing up as the primary art style for all the encounters you get in the game. It's not even like high-quality AI slop; it's a pretty simple style that was probably the first pass at prompting an engine for an image. Like the majority of the pictures are of the inside of cars and the steering wheels don't go anywhere, spokes don't complete, and hands are just not correct. It just reeks of low effort, and frankly, you could have followed the heuristic of "AI bad" here, and it would have been correct.

This is a fair take. Random comments about "AI slop" without context bring nothing to the table.

My personal theory is that there’s a segment of the members on Lemmy that downvote anything with AI in the title or body. They don’t tell you why, they don’t want to engage in a conversation. It’s literally “AI BAD” and a downvote before moving on and doing it elsewhere.

It’s pretty shitty, but even these comments will eventually get downvoted because we aren’t rabidly anti-AI.

Cause if we need to repeat the whole song and dance about all AI being trained on and therefore using stolen content from actual artists, then you're either new here or you you've willingly not paid attention

Yes, letting others assume why you dislike their content without engaging is definitely the mature way to handle a disagreement.

I’m not even saying I disagree with points you just raised, but I am saying the way the collective anti-ai army addresses those is childish and overall hurts the contributions of our tiny little communities.

Our Blessed Homeland / Their Barbarous Wastes

Hi, copygirl here from the childish immature anti-AI collective / army.

I'm just tired. Let us vent our frustrations.

If you paid any attention, you have already heard our arguments a dozen times over. No need to repeat.
