That would initially be my first guess yeah, either a bad connection, or perhaps a shorted connection somewhere.
Though it could be any one of a myriad of sensors taking down the entire data bus, which in more modern vehicles is typically a CAN bus..

Yeah, the CAN bus definitely reduces the amount of wiring necessary, but also comes with the drawback where any one failed sensor can potentially take down the entire data bus. ☹️
Without knowing much else yet, you might try one-by-one disconnecting different non-essential sensors and see if the overall main problem of all warnings goes away, that could help you try to narrow it down.
