Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

We need to build bathrooms differently.

Only one main room with sinks ; completely closed stalls with actual walls ; no urinals.

Edit : and also PLEASE put a coat hanger in there ! I dont want to have to choose between holding my coat in my arms, or dropping it on the toilet's floor...

Don't forget a box to throw menstrual pads into!

Imho, the ideal bathroom should have:

  • Enough space (1 by 1.5 m, 2.5 m tall), fully enclosed stall.
  • A sit-down toilet
  • A box to throw menstrual pads into
  • A toilet brush for cleaning
  • A coat hanger at eye height
  • Plenty of toilet paper, duh

As an accessibility, cleanliness, and efficiency bonus, you could also add for bigger and/or public toilets:

  • Lowered seat, shuttable arm rests
  • Foldable changing tables
  • Hand cream to clean hands (or a proper sink, not a tiny ass one; the towel should be above the sink. Also, if it's a sink, it shouldn't be in an inconvenient spot).
  • The lights turn on when the door is locked, and turn off only when the door is unlocked.
  • Toilets clean themselves.

Had this in a hotel in new York for their shared bathrooms they let me used when I grabbed my bags after checkout.

Absolutely fucking adore the concept, esp. as a trans lady.

Been saying this for years. Couldn't agree more.

Changing the way bathrooms are built can be better for everyone. Changing rooms in gyms too. Let's make these areas more private.

Or, as I've seen multiple times already, have some stalls with urinals in them.
