I think were going to sign K2 up for Irish dance lessons in the coming school year. My sister has been doing Irish dance for most of her life at this point and is very good. We had K2s dance recital this weekend and she did great! But it's very clear this studio is cursed in the same way a lot of studios are: talented creatives who are not great at organizing and running a business. Most of the issues are of the if-you-know-you-know type about kids dance stuff. Some stuff though, like having teachers constantly rotating for the classes we did with our son. Or the fact that the front door to their studio has been stuck in a locked position for a year now. Just, not great vibes overall.
The vibes around Irish dance are very appealing though. And my sister basically knows the good studios in the area because she either studied there or worked there at some point. Generally makeup isn't allowed when kids compete until age 11, they rather they focus on the dance and having fun. Dresses are usually built to be bought once and then let out as they age. The recital process is very different and often structured like a party with food and drinks and other activities.
We showed her videos of kids he age doing some dances and she was very interested. Plus in think its something she would doing because her auntie loves doing it. Something to bond over! Well see what we can make work. It'll be going from a 15min drive to a 40min drive for classes. It might be worth it though.
