Rules:

- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

This is why I always laugh at people that keep saying "Get out and vote". Its clear this fucker is not going to let the democratic process function as normal if it results in him losing power. You cannot use a broken system to fix itself. Revolution is the only way forward, people just need to stop lying to themselves about it.
None of this shit Trump is trying will actually work. They don't have the resources or the soft or hard power to make it work.
Doomers and agitators keep saying our elections are dead even though we keep having them, and Democrats continue to win them. It will happen again in November and I bet you still won't stfu about how doomed we all are. Hungary's entire system was far more rigged than the US and they did in fact vote their way out of it.
Agitating from your couch accomplished fae less than voting.
The Democrats are nothing but controlled opposition. While yes there are some Democrats in congress who are doing their best to make changes, the DNC is not going to let them get very far. When/if the blue wave comes in November, nothing will effectively change. Keeping the status quo will be the Democrats main goal. They may try to impeach a few members of trumps cabinet, but thats about it. The Overton Window has shifted waaaaaaaay too far to the right at this point, current establishment Democrats are further right than Regan ever was.
The time to vote was Nov 2024 when it actually mattered. People couldnt be fucked to save trans lives then.
It's a ploy to get people to stay home thinking "it won't matter anyway" and it looks like it's worked very well on you.
I'm still going to vote, but I just don't expect it to make a bit of difference.
Its not a ploy, there are tons of experts saying that we are in decline or simply beyond the point of no return for American Democracy.
