There's two general types of pedophilia, hebephilia, ephebophilia.

Those who legitimately have a sexual preference disorder typically as a side effect of a wider hormonal or developmental disorder.

These people can't help it, or physically lack the mental awareness to even understand it's wrong. In most cases it's manageable one way or another. This is also the only case where fake cp actually has shown actual use as a management and treatment method.

It's unpleasant to think about but it is what it is. There is also a lot of nuance here and a short post isn't the greatest way to discuss this topic reasonably.

Then your other type is rape. Its just your standard power play from someone who understands, can make informed choices and does it anyways. Its disgusting and these people should be put to death. There's zero excuse.

I imagine that power is a similar stimulant as drugs. The more you have, the more you want. And with any kind of addiction, it quickly becomes toxic. You're wealthy, so you want to be super rich. Once you're super rich you want to have direct power over people instead of just power through capital. One form of this may be political activities, lobbyism, propaganda, buying land, sport teams etc. Another can be sexual domination and abuse and getting away with it. It's all a form of 'I can do whatever I want'. I guess Trump admitted the sexual dimension several times ('grab em by the pussy').
