Place to post and discuss THRASH METAL!
RULES (MUST READ):
- Please keep things relevant to thrash (death thrash, blackened thrash, crossover, speed metal etc. are permitted). While we understand it is subjective, if a moderator believes a song to stray too far from thrash, it will likely be locked. Please do not take this personally. Repeat offenders may see posts removed.
- Please search before posting a song, do not repeat posts.
- Friendly debate is encouraged.
- When posting a song use the format of "Band - Song [FFO: band1, band2]". This just helps keep things uniform. The "FFO" (For Fans Of) section is optional. It is for lesser known bands. (Stole this idea from the Death Metal community).
- No racist, sexist, blah blah blah... you get the idea. This is not the place to discuss sensitive matters.
- No NSFW content (apart from songs/album covers. If they do include NSFW content, please mark the posts as such).
- Post in English only (obviously you can post songs in different languages).
- But most of all have fun XD.

Hello again, long time no see! ๐คฃ
Yeah what you mentioned at the start of the post mirrors my thoughts exactly.... As much as thrash is still by far my favourite genre, when you listen to so much of it, it is bound to get repetitive, and it even got to the point where I started to get less familiar with the music I love, due to the sheer mind pollution caused ๐คฃ. I'm still taking a bit of a break from the genre. I'm sure it will no doubt return as my top genre again in time, but I'm not rushing things. I think it's important to revisit what made me fall in love with the genre, rather than fill my mind with endless releases.
My attention recently has been divided up into traditional doom metal, and of course re-discovering the old thrash classics. And believe it or not, I'm investing a lot of time into electronic genres such as Jungle, DnB, Hardcore, Dub/soundsystem (and its culture).
As for thrash, I've mainly been listening to Cryptic Slaughter, Nuclear Assault, and Hallows Eve - as well as my usual share of Municipal Waste :P. My thrash intake has actually been on the rise again recently, but as mentioned, I'm taking things slow, and haven't really listened to more than the odd few albums I haven't yet heard.
Anyway, good to see the community isn't quite dead yet, friend ๐ค. Long live thrash!
Check this out, Serp:
Tech Itch compilation RESIST:ED ONE
If it's up your alley, you have a lot to discover, almost anything on that label is dope!
Cheers mate! Bookmarked it for a more thorough exploration later! I do tend to prefer Jungle to its more rigid counterpart (I actually think jungle has a lot in common with metal, only at the opposite end of the spectrum, especially thrash, at least in what it stands for) however it seems like good stuff! I do also appreciate my fair share of dark dnb! ๐ค
Mind pollution is right lol. I guess I got burnt out on so much new stuff every day, so much that even staggering it out couldn't save my enjoyment. Thrash is forever, and I hear/look for it all the time in other branches/roots of music even when it has very little to do with metal. Interesting you're getting into jungle and dnb, but based on our discord talks before it kinda makes sense haha.
