Elder millennial here and I really dislike nostalgia. A lot of old friends seem very stuck in the past, always talking about how things used to be and I see it as a sign that they're unhappy in their current situation. People who look forward and talk about new things seem to be happier.
Hahah appreciating good times in one’s personal past and looking forward to the future aren't mutually exclusive! I hope your friends can find something to look forward to!
I'm with you. Nostalgia is just seeing results while losing sight of the process. "It all turned out great" is a very nice illusion to erase the struggle to get anything done.
Yeah, me being nostalgic for the times spent in my parents' finished basement is just seeing the results and losing sight of the process. Please put up some painter's tape if you're going at with such a large brush.
