It’s expected to be 98-108F / 36-42C.

So yeah, water and weed is probably the better choice.

That said, people that attend Coachella every year are going to look at this and think “first time?”

People that attend Untold, Neversea, and no doubt a whole host of other festivals around the world would look and think "first time?"

The point is very much that yes, for Paris, it is indeed the first time.

That's kinda the point of climate change. Lots of places will be getting "first times" they're not prepared for. "Herp derp but Death Valley is hot" is the Fox News formula for dismissing that.

French authorities do not find weed funny in the slightest.

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

True. But at a concert or festival anywhere in the western world, weed will find a way.

If you’re in France, just look for a chill guy named Zephyr or something. He’ll hook you up. If you’re in the Americas, a Shane will do.

Well I'll be. For the first time in a while I'm proud of America for being progressive on this.

Indeed. It does appear that the tide of public attitudes is slowly beginning to turn on it, and Marseille is kinda leading the charge on it. From what I heard, a bunch of people in France smoke, but when I was there last month, we didn't find anything, even in Paris.

[–] Brummbaer@pawb.social 3 points 1 day ago

Kinda everyone smokes in France, it's just not legal so people are not open about it.

Only if you are not white enough. If you are white they don't care at all.

Last time they tried stopping me for weed I was too dumb for them to arrest 🤣 (I'd traveled non-stop from a festival in Spain my brain was so fried i forgot I had hash (known as chocolate in France) in my pocket)
