Close tie between America and UK, both horrible color choices
The worst part of the UK flag is they didn't put a dragon on it.
Well at least the Welsh kept it as their nation's flag.
Dragons in old English stories too so it's not even specifically a Welsh thing. Just another reason to have one on the UK flag.
I'd have to dig into the archives but all of Britain was once the Welsh, till the 'English' invaders pushed them into the pocket of land they are in now. I wonder if the Union Jack specifically left off the dragon, as to not recognize the welsh folk lore.
Which invasion? There were a few... To say it was all Welsh seems a bit odd. Everywhere has been invaded at least a few times. I think some are more a change of ruling class and others have more immigration of normal people.
I think the most well known ones here would be Roman, Anglo Saxon, Viking and Norman.
Its in the old hiatory books. The Welsh were from the Original Celtic Britons of the Iron age. Before the 'new' invaders.

See the red part. Now that's all squished into the western tiny zone after the various invaders drove them into it
I think it's a rule that countries that have been conquered by the french have to use those colours.
Well one of them was based on the otherβ¦
But hey, donβt hate on our 400+ year old colour choice! π³π±
What about all the other flags that use those same colours?
