There's a propaganda narrative being spammed into YouTube comments which basically tries to discredit any recent news report over this because the reporters are "smiling".

ie:

"look they're smiling about it"
"they sure are excited to report on this"
"i've never seen them so happy" etc..

Your (sarcastic) comment is kind of similar to what I've been seeing.
