A hypothetical doesn't change that it's a straw man argument, because Christianity does not have the equivalent of Sharia law. Because Jesus transitioned the laws of the old testament to be internal, creating a new covenant, switching away from strict rule keeping of the old laws.
Problem with Islam is that most Muslims still believe in the strict rule keeping of the Quran. But there are Muslims that interpret it differently, and are much more modern thinking.
That difference makes it so Christian laws are not a requirement for a Christian society, a Christian society can have secular laws without problem.

So it is extremely unlikely to come back outside maybe some cults.
Remember the old testament is not Christianity, it is what came BEFORE Christianity, and is the heritage of Christianity, so the barbaric rules of old testament are now void. And a court upholding them as literal can never really be a Christian court.
