Except they have no legal power, so they are only used voluntarily, I'm guessing mostly for family disputes.
But please feel free to show a recent example of an Ecclesiastical court that has done anything remotely similar to punish a young couple to caning for posting a picture of them kissing!
And remember that was what the post claimed saying: "Wait till you read about what can happen in the ecclesiastical courts.".

I find it very strange that you claim such courts exists in Catholicism, because in catholicism there is no basis for such courts, except maybe for being guidance on personal matters for believers.
So what horrible things are happening in these courts?
