Interesting that they would bother to add this - laying the ground work for a Steam Machine 2 already?

Some engineers pet project to try and influence hardware releases?

Surely it's for Valve's upcoming VR headset which will run on ARM.

As the article discusses, it doesn't feature that extension and that extension will only be featured (in a slim down way) in a new chipset at the end of the year.

Its certainly a weird thing to work on - they dont even have a way to test it (because theres no hardware).
