In a remarkable 24 hours in Washington, House Republicans snubbed a bipartisan funding deal cut by their own Senate GOP counterparts and instead approved an entirely different plan — prolonging the Department of Homeland Security shutdown.

Then, they left town.

Simply amazing - remember that instead of solving the problem, Republicans went on vacation.

If they arent helping, then they are actively hindering.

So stupid.

Also if nuclear fission turned out to be self propagating.

Think its actually below average since its just to measure baseline impurities and has absolutely no extra flavor or other additives, lol

Now you just need to tie it to a tax on AI/automation use...

If you have $1200 to burn, sure. Just used as a reference standard

Pairs well with a NIST PB&J

There was an alternative timeline where we stopped subsidizing and had farmers grow actual food and used more renewable energy - resulting in lower cost for both. 🫠

And the best part? He's done irreplaceable harm to the regions ability to bounce back (Qatar's facilities arent going to be back online any time soon) and has pushed us back on the renewable front at the same time, ensuring we stay in this hellhole of inflation for years.

I feel like this will become another polarized case, akin to the McDonalds coffee trial, you know, the one where the woman suffered third degree burns (and had to get skin grafts) and just wanted her medical covered.

You might want to be a little more specific, but theres Warsow which has FFA modes if you wanted a shooter

Literally fucking pointless

Fucking nannystate bullshit.

TEL AVIV — The U.S. and Israel have launched strikes against Iran with the goal of toppling the regime, President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Saturday.

Iran retaliated by launching missiles at Israel and a U.S. naval base in Bahrain. An Iranian official said all Israeli and U.S. interests in the region were now considered legitimate targets.

I hope everyone enjoys the explosive new prices that result.

U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly found that the IRS had erroneously shared the taxpayer information of thousands of people with the Department of Homeland Security as part of the agencies’ controversial agreement to share information on immigrants for the purpose of identifying and deporting people illegally in the U.S.

Her finding was based off a declaration filed earlier this month by Dottie Romo, IRS’ chief risk and control officer, which revealed that the IRS had provided DHS with information on 47,000 of the 1.28 million people that ICE requested — and, in most of those cases, gave ICE additional address information in violation of privacy rules created to protect taxpayer data.

Amazing - if you or I broke the law that many times, there'd be a hundred new laws.

As Trump entered the chamber, Green held up a sign reading "BLACK PEOPLE AREN'T APES!" and remained standing as Trump began his speech.

Can we all just a moment to reflect that "black people arent apes" is anti-Trump?

I’ve talked to several reporters, and quite a few news outlets have covered the story. Ars Technica wasn’t one of the ones that reached out to me, but I especially thought this piece from them was interesting (since taken down – here’s the archive link). They had some nice quotes from my blog post explaining what was going on. The problem is that these quotes were not written by me, never existed, and appear to be AI hallucinations themselves.

Super disappointing for Arstechnica here.

Like, how does that even happen?

Federal prosecutors have opened a criminal investigation of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, he confirmed on Sunday evening.

Powell said the probe was the result of the Fed “setting interest rates based on our best assessment of what will serve the public, rather than following the preferences of” President Donald Trump.

Terrible precedent that will harm our economy's ability to recover from high unemployment or inflation.

Powell's statement is worth a read

A judge will have to sign off on the proposed settlement, which calls for the Education Department to not enroll any new borrowers in the plan, deny any pending applications and move all SAVE borrowers into other repayment plans.

The Education Department said that more than 7 million people are enrolled in the plan and that it will begin outreach to affected borrowers in the coming weeks with guidance about how to repay their loans.

The serfdom will continue, until moral improves.

Working on a project where I essentially need a sizable monochrome display - basically a clock display.

Any ideas where I could source a sizable one for fairly cheap, including a control module?

The Trump administration told states on Saturday that they must “immediately undo” any actions to provide full food stamp benefits to low-income families, in a move that added to the uncertainty surrounding the nation’s largest anti-hunger program during the government shutdown. In late-night guidance seen by The New York Times, the Agriculture Department also threatened financial penalties against states.

Why is feeding people political? What value add is forcing people to starve? Monsters.

A former Navy pilot, first elected to Congress in 2018, will be New Jersey's next governor.

Democratic Rep. Mikie Sherrill defeated former Republican Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli, according to a race call by The Associated Press, capping a closely-watched gubernatorial election that some polls predicted would be a coin flip.
