It was never supported, ever, it has drivers but they won't offer you any support and before making a warranty claim they will ask you to restore steamos and see if you still have issues

yes, it has official drivers, so it has support.

There's a difference between those two statements. Support implies Valve will actively work to fix problems with those drivers should they arise, but they won't. They just provide these drivers now, but won't maintain them in the future.
