The problem is, DHS and ICE found a magic trick to just stop using body cameras when they don’t want to. All they have to do is, when asked why there is no footage:
Doesn't fly. Anytime there's an issue without bodycam footage, for any reason, the cop doesn't have a say. His witness testimony doesn't exist. His bodycam footage is his only acceptable testimony. Without it, the defendant's story is all the court hears. If he says he wasn't even on the scene, then that's the whole story, and he's not guilty.
And then the cop should be fired, AND go to jail for violating the law and not wearing his bodycam. It's time to play Hard Ball with these predators.
Don't like it? Start wearing body cams like the law demands. Simple as that.
Is that how it actually works, or is that how you want things to work?
