I'm a lesbian so I kind of initially shrugged in confusion. But then I used my imagination to think of a female Locust, not the Queen who was basically a human and for cishet men, but like a slightly more feminine version of the above, same build, slight breasts, kind eyes, maybe small spines on the arms and shoulders where the markings are. And I nearly swooned from the blood rushing to my genitals. So yeah.There are female Locust in the games aside from the Queen. They're the Berserkers and they're the size of the Hulk
There was some iffy lore introduced in an early comic or book or something about [CW: SA]

them being so mindlessly angry and murderous that a bunch of male Locust would need to gang up and restrain them to even mate with themThere was some other weirdly gendered and edgy stuff in the lore earlier on that later games walked back

I've forgotten a lot of Gears for having played them in my 20s. I remember the Berserker. She could make me worse.
Swarm (Locust 2.0) Hunters are female too.
That was revealed in Gears 5 where they got a slight redesign and were voiced by Arch Enemy's current singer. I wonder if they redesigned them around the casting
