skeet 💦💦 sharks

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 8 points 4 months ago

Street Sharks was oddly the first piece of media I felt socially forced into. I went to a daycare that was also an after school thing and when The Big Kids came in to bully us they were always hyped on Street Sharks. I do also remember ome day coming home from school to find my parents had gotten me a stretch shark toy and left it in box in mt room as a surprise and being absolutely hyped as hell but also a bit disappointed it was the big buff comic relief guy and not one of the cool ones.

My gf says depends on what he sounds like

It's the Coindexter voice from TrueAnon, definitely.

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

NSFWI'm a lesbian so I kind of initially shrugged in confusion. But then I used my imagination to think of a female Locust, not the Queen who was basically a human and for cishet men, but like a slightly more feminine version of the above, same build, slight breasts, kind eyes, maybe small spines on the arms and shoulders where the markings are. And I nearly swooned from the blood rushing to my genitals. So yeah.

[–] doublepepperoni@hexbear.net 29 points 4 months ago (3 children)

There are female Locust in the games aside from the Queen. They're the Berserkers and they're the size of the Hulk

There was some iffy lore introduced in an early comic or book or something about [CW: SA]

spoilerthem being so mindlessly angry and murderous that a bunch of male Locust would need to gang up and restrain them to even mate with them

There was some other weirdly gendered and edgy stuff in the lore earlier on that later games walked back

[–] git@hexbear.net 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Swarm (Locust 2.0) Hunters are female too.

[–] doublepepperoni@hexbear.net 3 points 4 months ago

That was revealed in Gears 5 where they got a slight redesign and were voiced by Arch Enemy's current singer. I wonder if they redesigned them around the casting

[–] XiaCobolt@hexbear.net 5 points 4 months ago

I've forgotten a lot of Gears for having played them in my 20s. I remember the Berserker. She could make me worse.

[–] ZWQbpkzl@hexbear.net 17 points 4 months ago

kind eyes

That'll do a lot for people.

[–] TraschcanOfIdeology@hexbear.net 30 points 4 months ago

Idk there's approximately 4 billion of them. It's bound to happen

[–] NewAcctWhoDis@hexbear.net 28 points 4 months ago (1 children)

idk I know some women who would say "yes"

[–] Robert_Kennedy_Jr@hexbear.net 27 points 4 months ago (2 children)

I used to know a woman who was really into the Uruk'hai from LotR

[–] LeeeroooyJeeenkiiins@hexbear.net 28 points 4 months ago (1 children)

men, women, all United in their freaky love for their weird ass shit

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 21 points 4 months ago

Yeah, some folks are just into weird little freaks - good on them lol

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 9 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

They were played by every Rugby player in new Zealand mostly naked. Hot fantasy monsters are a way to indulge in some fun ideas that can be pretty dangerous for women irl to engage in, I get it add that to people generally getting down with weird shit and its not a big surprise

Ben Shapiro in Gears of War universe:

"He was a ~~bear~~ Locust of a man"

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 23 points 4 months ago

Look, I just need to know, and it has nothing to do with my lifelong obsession with the cartoon show “Street Sharks” and my desire to turn into a Street Shark. I understand that those were cartoons so you cannot look like that, however this is an achievable middle ground, y’know, hypothetically.

This also has nothing to do with my patent on triangular shark-fin themed surgical brochures.

Orcmaxxing.

[–] Kefla@hexbear.net 19 points 4 months ago

There's an appeal to me for sure. I think I'd need to be in a certain kind of mood for his face not to turn me off but, I mean, I would. Is that good enough?

[–] segfault11@hexbear.net 19 points 4 months ago

you have to go on a crude oil cleanse to get this physique

[–] oscardejarjayes@hexbear.net 18 points 4 months ago

Looks more like a man's man. Buff, juiced, chiseled six packs: what if there was attractive, but it was just for the dudebros.

tl;dr would, some women would, more men would

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 18 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Too big. I know some men that are into bears who would like him though.

[–] doublepepperoni@hexbear.net 24 points 4 months ago (1 children)

My first reaction was that there'd definitely be plenty of dudes into him

This just reminded me of the old debates about male gaze in video games where gamers would argue that Batman in the Arkham games is just as sexualised as Mai Shiranui because muscles = booba

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 21 points 4 months ago (3 children)

There'll be someone that won't like me saying this I'm sure but I've often wondered if everyone is capable of some level of bisexuality and if monosexuality is a product of gender norms imprinted through social upbringing.

If true then it would explain how men who identify as straight still sexualise men according to how gay men would do so instead of how women usually do.

Some people explain it away as "it's how men think they need to be to be attractive to women because of toxic masculinity" but I don't think that's all there is to it. I've had conversations with straight men about how seeing a twink fucking a hot porn star would be less attractive for them than seeing a huge muscle man even when the tiny twink would be far more of a self-insert for that straight dude than the muscle man. There is some element of sexual pleasure being drawn from the man in the porn video even for those dudes that identify as straight.

[–] doublepepperoni@hexbear.net 15 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

I think it's less that they think a big muscly man is attractive and more that twinks make them uncomfortable. The big muscly man is the norm in porn so the average man doesn't even think about it, any deviation from what is deemed Normal and Straight makes them ask too many questions about themselves and they'll react negatively

I think it's related to why so many people hated Raiden's bishounen looks and his skintight catsuit so much in MGS2 back in 2001

[–] corvidenjoyer@hexbear.net 11 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Isn't "straight" somewhat of an exclusionary category to begine with? Isn't that the problem?

[–] anoriginalthought@lemmy.ml 2 points 4 months ago

It's been a while since I read my Human Sexuality textbook but didn't the Kinsey Scale find that like 15% of each gender (Kinsey only considered 2 at the time) was exclusively straight? So 30% of the total population considered?

[–] Rose_Thorne@lemmy.zip 18 points 4 months ago

If I can throw a bag over his head, maybe? And would he wear a cardboard tail?

... Okay, no, he's not attractive, he's just close enough to a SyFy Killer Croc knockoff to maybe scratch the impossible itch, but if he didn't have the arm scales, I'd have no interest.

as a "Monster Fucker" experience sure i guess, on a human thats way too big of a build, lot of gays would love him I'm sure

Lmao most women where I live do like the more muscled body type but this would be too much for them. The leaner look is more preferred

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 8 points 4 months ago (1 children)

i don't mean this in a snarky way but ask yourself how you could possibly know what most women in your area prefer. that's just your perception comrade.

[–] came_apart_at_Kmart@hexbear.net 3 points 4 months ago

maybe they live in one of those places where there are like 3 women in total.

like a man camp. or rural Montana.

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 7 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (2 children)

My research on what straight cis women like is this: dudes that look good vis a vis their already existing body. Im pretty sure straight cis men also feel the same but won't admit it. Weird rpg stat thought in regards to your own body is what isn't appealing. And speaking as a bi they/them who is masc presenting, just like...learn to dress yourself without making a costume of it. I am conventionally pretty hot, cut Viggo Mortinsen in the mid 2000s down by s foot and twinkify to otter and add anime hair. I look fucking good. But a big part of that is also knowing how I look good and leaning into it. There's a lot of different ways to look good but knowing what youre going for and having literally any sense of style goes a long way. Just dress really fucking weird, people love that.

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 5 points 4 months ago
