Nice find. It does look quite different. Our brains are better at filling in the missing resolution than AI.

edit: it reminds me of comparing old pixel games on a CRT vs modern TVs.

Yup, but at the same time, although I don't care to defend the upscaling, it does seem a slightly unfair frame to pick as being representative of the whole. It's a super brief shot in an action moment where the characters look distinctly goofy and low-detailed in the original.

Edit: Deleted old comment, was a bit much to say; it already looked bad and the AI made it look worse. Why do it? Just keep the old native res release up. No one asked for a AI upscale.
