A place to discuss and support all Steam Hardware, including Steam Deck, Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and SteamOS in general.
As Lemmy doesn't have flairs yet, you can use these prefixes to indicate what type of post you have made, eg:

If your post is only relevant to one hardware device (Deck/Machine/Frame/etc) please specify which one as part of the title or by using a device flair.
These are not enforced, but they are encouraged.
Rules:

- Posts must be related to Steam Hardware or Steam OS in an obvious way.
- No piracy, there are other communities for that.
- Discussion of emulators are allowed, but no discussion on how to illegally acquire ROMs.
- This is a place of civil discussion, no trolling.

Same, but I'm also looking at mini PCs that feature an Oculink port for an external GPU. I'm currently leaning toward the GMKTec K12 which has a Radeon 780M internally (pretty common in mini PCs). That's good enough for a lot of games (much better than than Deck), and I have an old RTX 3060 plus a power supply sitting around.
The PC is $689 and a Minisforum eGPU dock is $120. So for ~$800 I could have a tiny living room PC that can have some beef when I need it. It just wont be as pretty with the GPU attached. And I can even upgrade the GPU later. Something from AMD, ideally. Seems like a good deal to me.
