United Kingdom
General community for news/discussion in the UK.
Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.
Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Labour is so set on shooting itself in the head I have trouble believing Starmer isn't literally wearing a skinsuit that he'll rip off to reveal he's actually the zombie corpse of Thatcher, revived by pure spite on her unholy mission to finish the conversion of Britain to a fascist state.
I suspect Starmer is actually a potato, wearing a Mr. Potato Head suit, wearing a suit.
OMG we've never actually seen Keir Starmer and Mr Blobby in the same room at the same time together. Coincidence? I think not.
I love the thought that Mr Blobby is the actual real person and Kier Starmer is Mr Blobby in a costume.

Labour has been an effectivly useless party since Blair took over. The modern leadership doesn't realize that their ideas are wildly unpopular and thatcthe only reason they have power is because the Tories literally destroyed the British economy. Labour is dead and will only have themselves to blame when Farage takes over in the next general election.
I think it's much worse than that.
If you look at their economic goals they're on a (relative to Tories) good track with a lot of actual progress, but they're engaging in so much unnecessary culture war authoritarian nonsense that is so obviously designed to drive their base away it sure seems like they're only doing it so that when they collapse the conservatives will be able to point at their economic policies and say the public turned on them for those instead of their actual unpopular stances.
