bloomer
A place for optimism, relentless positivity, anti-doomerism, and snuggle sessions.
We're all in this together, and a better world is possible!
This is now also a space for organizing tips for our collective survival as we confront climate change and everything else. Still no doom-posting. We're here to work together, support each other, and boldly face the future.
Rules:
-
Familiarize yourself with the site-wide Code of Conduct
-
No doom, no gloom, only bloom. There's plenty of room for doomerism elsewhere. This community is solely for having a positive outlook on the future and spreading good vibes.
-
Be kind to your fellow users. This also means no arguing in the comm. Arguments and negativity are not conducive to blooming. Constructive discussion is good. No interest-policing. Support your comrades in their joy!
-
Always share good news. We can't exactly enforce this one, but if you have good news, please share it with us! Keeping happiness and positivity to yourself is the twelfth type of liberalism.

A weekly bloomer post is a great idea, let's go!
My weekly bloomer stuff: The time was changed last night and I got to sleep an hour longer! I am instantly back to normal and feel better when it's "normal time".
The following months are the best times until I am forced to get up in the middle of the damn night again come spring.
I am enjoying a new baking related special interest, this time it's pies and tarts. I've had so many over my life and love how it gives me a new skillset every time. Human learning is wondrous to me, all the things we can do with our bodies and minds.
Made an amazing caramel tart after work on Friday and now have a pie dough in the fridge for a savory French onion tart and I'm so exited. I bake and listen to my commie podcasts, it's the best time.
Ooo what podcasts do you like?
I do the Deprogram every week for the banter mostly, it's sort of lighthearted but leftist.
Then I circle through other podcasts like RevLeft, Upstream (a bit lib depending on episode), Guerrilla history, the dialectic at work (not ML), The East is a Podcast, the speeches of Michael Parenti if feeling doomer and others that I just come across. Tried Bad Hasbara yesterday, but it didn't stick for me.
