AI or not, I hate the modern trend of home colors being grey, black, and white. I don't care about the "professional look" or "modern design", its my home not a workplace. First thing i did was paint my house when I got it and even though I don't love every color I chose it gave it a major face lift from the dull grey walls. The yellow I chose for one wall is bathed in sunlight and really makes my wooden toned furniture and green leaved house plants pop out against it.
The colors of neutrality so you don’t actually live there and can leave it that way to sell it. The “real estate ad” color palette.
Black floors aren't neutral
Yes they are.
I personally use a lot of monochrome on any fixed surfaces, e.g. floor, walls, doors, trim, hardware, etc. so that i have flexibility in colorful decorations.
For example, I installed a medium-dark warm gray vinyl plank flooring, white trim, white doors with black hardware, and I stained closet doors from tan to warm dark grayish brown, and then use bright colors everywhere else for decorations and accent walls. This gives me a bit of flexibility in changing colors without having to repaint, or worry about something clashing.
Like you, I can't stand a complete lack of color, but i do use that "modern look" as a base.

That and the landlord's favourite - "Trade Magnolia"
It's not an ugly paint colour, but it's boringly neutral and inoffensive, devoid of any character whatsoever.
Once I own a place of my own, I swear to god I'm avoiding that colour like the plague.
