A particularly surprising discovery is that CXMT is constructing its cleanrooms—where the actual silicon is produced—in just around 12 months, whereas the rest of the DRAM manufacturing industry typically takes 21-24 months, nearly a full year longer.

Finally, the report notes that the Chinese government is encouraging CXMT to transfer its DRAM technology IP to other Chinese DRAM manufacturers such as JHICC, Swaysure, and YTMC's subsidiary XMC. This initiative aims to alleviate memory shortages domestically before CAMT-designed DRAM enters other markets, such as the EU and possibly even the U.S.

China is “hellbent on dismantling democracy”?

Do tell! Which terrorists have the sponsored? Who have they recently invaded? Ooo did they capture the leader of a sovereign state? Does money control all of their politics?

  1. They promoted conservatives including Trump by name, the AfD, and many other nations using their TikTok psyop and other media outlets, to great effect as the largest conservative shift ever recorded among youth happened in the USA and basically guaranteed Trump's second term. They also run psyops in South Korea namely the Gender War.

  2. They gave weapons and funds to the IRGC which then funneled them into Lebanon, Gaza, Egypt, etc as well as infiltrating positions of authority in Hamas, and were used in the October Music Festival attack which ignited the Genocide. They also vetoed any UN Ceasefire resolutions which the USA would agree too, namely with release of hostages in the terms. The IRGC also used those weapons in Iran on their own citizens killing more protestors than the entire USA conflict, not even counting the starvations under the Ayatollahs rule.

  3. They're committing genocides in Xinjiang and occupied Tibet. They also used full military force on their Hong Kong takeover with tanks and all instead of leaving it as an autonomous economic territory.

  4. They have been running Air Raid drills over Taiwan and threatening to invade, likely already would have happened if Xi Jinping didn't play a round of musical chairs by executing his own top generals.

  5. They militarily supported the coups in Nicuragua, Venezuela, and Myanmar recently, many others in the past. They're the primary sponsor of North Korea.

  6. They're the singular crutch upon which Russia's war on Ukraine continues, has continued for years.

  7. Chinese Gangs for years operated Pig Butchering scams against the west.

  8. The router Botnets which have attacked Steam, Visa, and various infrastructure around the world was based out of China.

Chinese Gangs for years operated Pig Butchering scams against the west.

is the really the Chinese government doing that? doesn't every country have some sort of scammers running inside of it?

Its hard to imagine the foremost surveillance state just didn't notice it all that time. China isn't exactly an anarchy of roving gangs where billions of dollars move around unnoticed.

One thing we do know is that the Chinese government took action to stop it but that could just be that they were becoming arrogant, outliving their usefulness, or perhaps about to get caught and reveal ties to the state.

[–] lobut@lemmy.ca 3 points 23 hours ago

it just seems odd to me that the government tried to stop it and we're saying that they were secretly supporting it, but okay

sounds like China's government can be incompetent to me

to be clear, doesn't mean I'm overlooking all the other things they do, there's a lot of bad shit and I don't think China even sees a need for democracy to be clear ... I think that's self-evident.

You need to touch some grass for a while. Or don't.

Your mental gymnasticing is not my problem. Just pointing it out.
