Those storage options are a little questionable to me, 512 GB in particular isn't enough if this is really targeting the console market, the latest Cawadoody is like 200 GB or something. You could of course swap it out since I'm assuming it's just a regular NVMe SSD, but that'd kinda go against the whole point of just buying a console-like box that can game.
Depends. If you are interested in primarily AAA gaming I wouldnt recommend the steammachine anyways and refer to a playstation if you have to do console gaming.
but if your market is secretly old games and pirates, 512GB is enough for almost all 10+ year old games still worth playing/emulating
there's a hard drive shortage due to AI
yeah but latest game that works on linux? that's like 2GB per game
They've been good on SD card compatibility so I think the lower hard drive space up-front is compensated by that.
