I will say this of Phil. He was always willing to hear me out when some post was generated from the feeds I assembled that he thought was "propaganda". It never really yielded any results and in at least one instance he misrepresented why one feed was removed. It was all inconsequential ultimately. I just was not interested in managing his personality, and my comm was the largest on his site. While I drove most of the traffic, he held all the cards. Now I have control over what is being distributed and try to work with our communities here to build a news feed that they are interested in. Interestingly, the most active users it would seem are all from .world.
Wow. I'm really sorry you had to deal with all that. And...Well he's surely enough letting some of what he would normally call propaganda get posted now; so it seems to me like control issues,.
Kbin is really having a hard time controlling bot traffic and I feel bad for the admin, but when I get the chance, I'll be amending some subscriptions. Thanks for the additional information.
Oh I totally brought this on myself, and anticipated this would be the result. When I attempted to add a list of leftist publications to ibbit via request, Phill wasn't that interested in managing them all so he made me a comm to mod. Once I realized I was the largest comm on the site I started working on abolish.capital. The domain came later, but I wanted my own RSS bot and needed to learn how to spin up a Lemmy instance. His break away from ml and db0 was the push I needed to finish it.
I'm not up on what is going on with kbin but the one good idea that Phill had was containing this content to its own domain so admins could defederate from them. People can block the bot if they didn't want the content.
Kbin is being hit hard with scrapers.
Anyway, thanks for all your work and dedication to learning. I look forward to expanding my feeds based on what I've learned, here. If you are participating in any gatherings, may they be enjoyable.
