Dampening.
Or lack thereof. It's also relying on the rigidity of the hinges to prevent twisting of the frame.
Damping. I think Dampening is when you add moisture.
Damping is a process that reduces the amplitude or oscillation of a vibrating system over time.
Dampening can mean to make something slightly wet, or lessen the intensity of something
Dampening is when Americans try English.
It's not damping at all, only a spring effect.
