If you want to see some outraged libs telling some bad jokes - this is the thread for you - https://subium.com/profile/davidcorn.bsky.social/post/3m7vhfokupk2s
no thanks!
Seriously it's the same jokes over and over about him having dementia, being a fast food manager, or calling him fat. Why do people do this? "Yeah that's pretty funny he looks like he has dementia lol good joke! You know what would be funnier? If I posted this same joke verbatim two hours from now in case anyone sorts the comment section by random so they can see it too!"
Libs are to posting like Elon Musk is to roasting.
I used a subium.com link so when I had a look myself at the thread - for a few seconds I was confused. I asked myself "Why is there more lib shit and more horrible shit lib shit?" Then it hit me - some posts were by accounts I never see.
why are they calling it the people's house now? are they still mad about how this president (and no other president) made changes to the tacky plantation-style mansion he has to live in?
When footage came out of the East Wing getting demolished - day-after-day-after-day Bluesky libs reached incredible levels of whining, moaning, and rending their garments. It was some real bad Sorkin West Wing drama. Also there was so much nonsense. Some lib pundits were predicting that Trump's changes to the White House could impact his popularity for the worse. I don't know if they believed such stuff or sort of did or they didn't. In any case - they were generating engagement and getting likes for themselves.
Worse yet - none of all that stuff was c/slop worthy. I had to create some Bluesky filters to make it go away.
this was the first time in my life i ever heard the white house being referred to as "the people's house". it was some post about how the united states destroyed the actual ancient city of babylon and the replies were like "yeah but doing renovations on the white house is worse because of FREEDOM". anyway i guess what i'm asking is, is "the people's house" some sort of shibboleth for people who get pissy about this specific tacky renovation on an already tacky house?
side note but i love the west wing slander. truly the 9/11 of television, except bad
I never googled so I didn't know the etymology. Google and Wikipedia were annoying. Eventually I found the following. Bluesky exploded in size so the percentage of lib political junkies went way down. I assume many threads have a lib Facebook-like tinge now. And I assume serious political nerd libs don't use the term "the people's house" because it has a connection to Andrew Jackson. It's funny what you learn when you look things up. Emphasis mine.
I'm mystified why Wikipedia has basically nothing.
