I wonder who are the consortium's voting members and where does the vice-chair of the Emoji subcommittee work.
So... lots of people have a say, not exclusively Apple, as per Anafabula's statement?
If Apple (or Google for that matter) proposes a new Emoji it will get approved 101% of the times.
Honestly, I am a bit surprised the Government of India hasn't pushed for an won this fight already. (Though as one that has not traveled to India, I am uncertain if Indians uses Kettles as much as the British.)
