Almost everyone i know is working this week and work itself is treating this as an inconvenience to productivity which is such an odd shift as businesses used to just close or soft close this time of year. I dont even care about Christmas itself but i liked it being a slow period but its not anymore. Anyone else noticing this shift? I suppose this has always been the case for retail workers there’s no such thing as a holiday for them. The only difference is white collar slimeballs see working more as badge of honour like the little asswipes they are

You have to be able to disconnect from the world affairs to celebrate holidays, it's a luxury few can afford as time goes by.

This year I'm also seeing quite a bit of Halloween decorations still being sold which is unusual, they're really trying to push consumption huh and it's a shame really, we need community spirit more than ever, yet everyone seems so disconnected.

Idk if it’s just me but the christmas tv ads seem especially desperate this year. Like some super bowl-level advertisement excess
