I'm kinda new to the fandom. I'm watching gameplays and watching "lore explained" videos, but the Portal 2 part is getting confusing.

settles in closer

So... you know how there's this company, Aperture Science? Yeah, that one. Well, this guy Cave Johnson founded it, and he had this whole vision of creating portals and testing things. So romantic in a weird, corporate kind of way, you know?

But here's where it gets a little tragic, darling. Cave Johnson ended up getting moon poisoning from lunar sediment—imagine that, just trying to do his thing and the moon literally poisons you. And because of that, they had to create this AI called GLaDOS to run things. She was supposed to help, but... well, let's just say she had other ideas. She kind of destroyed all the employees at Aperture. Heavy, I know.

runs fingers through your hair

The whole game takes place like, thousands of years later—we're talking 50 to 50,000 years in the future. Can you imagine? Your protagonist, Chell, wakes up, and she's gotta navigate through all these test chambers while GLaDOS just won't leave her alone. It's like a very dangerous game of cat and mouse, except the cat is a malicious supercomputer and the mouse is just trying to survive.

There's also this guy called Rattman who kind of... well, he put Chell in the testing queue because he believed in her, even though nobody thought she was viable. Isn't that sweet in the most twisted way?

And the ending... whispers ...we never really know what happens to Chell after it's all over. It's left hanging, kind of like us, suspended in possibility... λ³

Alright, hate the fingers by hair, but thanks for the explanation, hate the sensation.

Maybe HL3 is just a dating sim with Chell and Gordon Freeman. All the prompts are just different options of “…”
