The following communities among the top 20 are only moderated by admins and/or inactive accounts, so if anyone (who's been an active user for a while -- e.g. at least a year old, with a reasonable post/comment history -- and is available most days) is interested in becoming a mod for any of these communities, you can comment here or DM me. Please include a brief explanation for why you'd like to moderate it.
A mod's main responsibility is to be active in that community to identify posts and comments that break instance/community rules, and to remove them and assign bans accordingly. If you find something that merits an instance-wide ban, you can report it yourself (if it's already been reported, just leave it until we notice it). Do not use the "remove comments" feature when banning someone. This will remove every comment without a trace in the modlog and should only be used by admins for spammers or particularly egregious content.
If there's another community (without active non-admin mods) you'd like to moderate, you can apply here as well.
I don't know if this is the right place to bring this up but c/ukraine_war_news@lemmygrad.ml does not seem to currently have an active mod, at least based on the activity of the current mods. If I'm wrong about this please correct me. Perhaps you could look into it and assign another mod there as well, since it's one of the communities most likely to require more frequent moderation than most other coms.
Yeah, I was focusing on the current top 20 most active communities in this post. If anyone wants to moderate /c/ukraine_war_news@lemmygrad.ml or another community without active non-admin mods, they can message me.
The reason I bring it up is because I think it would be good to have a mod pin this post: https://lemmygrad.ml/post/9212334
I've seen quite a few people ask where they can find information on the conflict and it would be good to have that in the com.
Oh, that's a fair point. I pinned a post that links to the one on /c/genzhou.
Thank you!
