Hot take. Maybe people shouldn't be getting their political awareness from algorithmic sites. For every teen who learns Gaza etc there's 10 that learn about the Manosphere and how bad vaccines are.

That's sort of the problem with.... reality, man. Both you and this kid are right, life isn't black and white and there are a lot moving parts.

You're 100% right that nobody should be getting political information from social media. This kid stating that is showing his age. Social media is a cess pool to become politically informed.

But he's also right that this sort of thing can be a slippery slope.

That's a line from the news site's reporter, not the kid. It's a slippery slope though for sure, but because of the age verification thing. They ought to ban black box ranking outright for all ages.
