I’d be interested in hearing exactly what failed on yours. My 2i2 has been going strong for 7+ years now but if they have a potential failure point I’d like to hear about it.
And honestly if my 2i2 died today, I’d probably get another one without much of a thought.
Crackling audio from right side of headphone jack. I threw it in a suitcase working fine and when I arrived at destination it was broken. Dunno.
Honestly, that sounds like it could be fixable if you were inclined to try. Could be as simple as a connection that needs resoldered or maybe just a dirty volume pot.
This. I've salvaged several bass and guitar amps that were discarded as "broken", most of them had broken solder joints in the output jack or dirty pots. Both are very easy to check and repair.
Only one guitar amp needed more work, the previous owner had somehow managed to break the amp's main PCB board in two and the connections between components were severed. I restored the connections with jump wires and it came back to life.
